After a peaceful night at anchor off San Remo we set off early to return to Monaco. We came alongside and took the voyage photo- we almost included one of the harbour employees but he realised that he was in our photo shoot, and hurried off quickly!
After smoko we got set up for wheelchairs aloft and assisted climbs- and it was a very busy morning. The star of the show was Rebecca . who decided that going up in a chair was not the order of the day- she wanted to climb, and she did! Particularly brave, considering that she had sprained her ankle the night before. By the time she got to the tops though, she was really tired, so we made the decision to bring her down, almost as a rescue aloft.
She got into a transit seat, and David the bosun helped her down the back stays. The ear to ear grin lasted for the whole of the day, and I think it was probably still there when she got home.
The climbs did take a long time and the weather wasn't too kind either.
Plans for most people to have lunch ashore went all to pot, so everybody ate on board and then wandered off into Monaco. About half the crew ate on board for dinner and went out later - possibly a good thing to do in Monaco, as it is not the cheapest place on earth.
The following morning we had an early start, with Happy hour at 0700, followed by bacon butties on deck and then people started to make their way to the airport- some still clutching their bacon butties.
