Greetings from hot and sunny Greece.
We arrived at Navplion on Wednesday evening- a fairly commercial seaside town with the most stunning backdrop. There are two castles perched up on the hillside - one with a zig-zag partially tunnelled path leading to it.
Needless to say, the minute Captain Barbara got off the ship she was off, hiking up the mountain!
The boys had a bit of a night out , and unfortunately one of them woke Hammie up when he couldn't open the front door at 0215! She repaid the compliment when he didn't turn up for breakfast - his wake up call came courtesy of 2 saucepan lids! He made it to breakfast today!
This morning most people were up at 0600, and set off at 0700 with chauffeur Steve to get to Athens airport. I think he was planning a comfort break at the Corinth Canal. Once he's dropped everyone off, he has a few permanent crew to pick up and a couple of early arrival maintainers. More maintainers are due tomorrow and then we set off on the final leg of this strange voyage to try to get to Volos. Let's see what the headwinds are like tomorrow evening Sue
