Foward Starboard – On Afternoon watch
The anchor was raised at 0700 this morning, which woke most people up in time for breakfast as it was so loud!
There were quite a few people eating their breakfast out on deck, as fresh air made them feel better. Quiet day today, as people are trying to find their sea legs, some finding it more easy than others. We then had ‘happy hour’, with our watch cleaning and hovering the lower mess and the bar. Had a minor catastrophe with Henry the Hoover, with the contents spilling out everywhere as he didn’t have his hoover bag in. Poor Henry!
After that, we had a quiet few hours not doing very much before we had an early lunch before our watch. Lunch was pasta bake which was yummy, but not many people could stomach the whole plate as well as trifle because of the rocky ship. It was funny watching everyone trying to walk around the ship without falling!
NOTE: Always take up offers of extra tasks! Thats what people thought when i got to play with the fire hoses! Jenny and I had to get out all the fire hoses and test them to check they all were in working order. This involved taking the hoses out, plugging them in and squirting them off the side of the ship. This was great fun! Then we had to roll them up and put Vaseline on the nozzles so they kept working properly and then put it all back in the right place. Luckily i had my waterproof trousers on as it was quite choppy when were were testing the forward hoses! Marcin did however cover me when testing one of the nessels! GRR!

Forward Port Watch – Day 3
Emily,Ellie and Nicola woken early to help with hauling up the anchor. Nicola got an extra wash when she squirted herself in the face with the hose!
After breakfast we did the 8-12 watch.
We saw quite a lot of ferries and sang some more songs. Lunch was beef and pasta yum! We are enjoying the food. Some of the other watches are feeling very sick – I think it was emily’s helming again because now we have finished everyone is getting better!
Jon gave us all a serious talk about boys!
I asked if at my age I could be excluded from this but unfortunately it was a different kind of buoy!!!!
Dinner was tender beef pie, followed by ice cream –delicious!!
Over and out Dinah x
Web report LN750 GG6 Day 3 – Chessie (Aft starboard) reporting
Really really REALLY happy as I found the Blue duck in a packet of salt & vinegar crisps at 20:13 ... J J thanks GG5!
Aft Starboard had a watch at 6PM – 8PM and during this everyone helped to put some sails up – what an experience! Hopefully about 4am more sails will be put up by the night watch crew.
The ship seems a bit calmer now the sails are up which is good as most of us were a little green.
I don’t think we can believe it is Day 3 already – time goes by quickly but having an awesome time. Soooooo much fun J
Will report back soon – aye aye captain !
A poem written by Chessie
Finding the duck
With help from the cook
Wasn’t too hard
When I wasn’t on guard.
Searching & searching everywhere
Though others did not seem to care,
Where the blue duck was hiding
We got in the spirit – as we’re in Guiding.
In the crisp packet we did see –
The little blue Duck on Day three!
Chessie xxx
PS Apparently if you read if with a northern accent ‘duck’ and cook’ rhyme! MP :o)
