Morning smoko saw 'Nellie' entertain the JST's Scillian support group who came aboard to see how ship shape we were - they are busy raising funds to send two of their own on a JST voyage.

After an enjoyable day sailing, we reluctantly resorted to engines to arrive at the Isles of Scilly. We took on board a pilot to direct us to the anchorage at Saint Mary's.

A beautiful sunny day at Cherbourg Harbour. Anchored nearby last night and stayed there overnight. Then after a fantastic breakfast provided by Dave the cook we sailed into Cherbourg this morning. Sian helmed us safely into the harbour.

Nearly there! After a beautiful sunny stopover in Jersey we have had a lively and chilly passage to the Solent where we are now anchored and the last harbour stows of the voyage completed, It will seem strange saying goodbye to the friends with whom we have been in close company for a month,

It's been an exciting 24 hours. Lots of wind from the south has given us good speeds of up to 9.5 knots. Occasional showers of rain haven't dampened spirits as the general morale is high; we are all enjoying the good sailing.

AFT PORT. 7 MAY.

6 May Lord Nelson, Southampton........I've just returned to work after 6 weeks off, whilst my torn calf muscle repaired itself. It's amazing how quickly I'd forgotten what life on Nellie is like; we're in the middle of maintenance and it is very busy.
