- Press Office - Jubilee Sailing Trust, a Southampton based charity, has a very special offer for young people with a visual impairment from Sussex.
Jubilee Sailing Trust offers tall ship sailing adventures on board to mixed ability crews and has additional funding for any Sussex residents under the age of thirty with a visual impairment.
Funding is available for a 13 day voyage leaving from the stunning city of Monaco on Friday 12th March, with the chance to visit ports in France or maybe even Italy. Alternatively we can also offer places on board voyages from Monaco to Italy and Italy to Greece.
Sussex residents that sail with us can expect to be part of the crew from day one, using the speaking compass to helm the ship, helping in the galley and will even get the chance to climb the rigging.
Voyage crew member Anne Rutter, who sailed on board Lord Nelson, says the following about her time with Jubilee Sailing Trust;

Jubilee Sailing Trust owns and operates the only two tall ships in the world of their kind that have been designed and built with adaptions that create an inclusive environment for a mixed ability crew. Lifts between deck levels allow wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments to travel around the ship unaided, vibrating alarms alert people with hearing impairments in the case of an emergency and a speaking compass gives visually impaired people the chance to helm the ship.
