Peter Harrison Foundation Presents Cheque on board Tenacious

Congratulations to Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) Vice Patron, Peter Harrison, who has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday honours’ list, for charitable services through the Peter Harrison Foundation.

Peter has been a steadfast supporter of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which owns and operates two magnificent tall ships Lord Nelson and Tenacious, for a number of years. In 2007 his foundation awarded the charity a grant of £1.5 million which helped the JST to substantially reduce outstanding build costs from their second ship, Tenacious. It is for work like this that Peter has now been recognised.

The Peter Harrison Foundation, which was established in April 1999, has helped countless organisations, including the Jubilee Sailing Trust, to provide support and education to individuals who are disabled or disadvantaged and who may not otherwise have the opportunity to develop their self potential.

The title of Commander of the British Empire is only awarded to a small selection of people each year and the JST are delighted that the timeless dedication of Peter Harrison has been recognised.

The money donated has enabled the Jubilee Sailing Trust to continue its mission of bringing equality across all levels of physical ability through the magical experience of sailing unique tall ships on the open sea. To date over 36,000 people have been on a life changing journey with the charity.

The Peter Harrison Foundation continues to make a difference to the lives of hundreds of people through it’s support of projects across the country.

Congratulations once again to Peter for this richly deserved achievement.
