- PRESS RELEASE - On Saturday 31st
July Southampton based charity, the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST), is challenging supporters and daredevils alike to take on the heights of Canberra Towers in Southampton; raising money for the trust as they abseil from the roof of the 264ft high building.
The charity arranges a number of exciting challenges, including skydiving, fire walking and mast climbing and now, adding Abseiling to their list, they’re giving members of the public the chance to sign up for this unforgettable challenge while raising money for a local charity.
Matt Gravelling, Events Co-ordinator at the Jubilee Sailing Trust says the following of the event, “This is a great opportunity to do something out of the ordinary with your weekend and you’ll be helping to send people of all abilities to sea. Events like this have always proved really popular, both with people who want to take part and in the community as it’s an excellent show to watch. We hope that the people of Southampton will do us proud and really get involved in this local event for a local charity.”
Anyone who wants to take part, and go back to work on Monday morning with an amazing story to tell, can sign up today by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 023 8044 9108 for more information. Minimum sponsorship is just £100, which is a small price to pay for such an experience.
Jubilee Sailing Trust owns and operates the only two tall ships in the world that have been designed and built to enable people of all physical abilities to sail alongside one another as crew members.
Any money raised on the day will go towards subsidising each place on board the charity’s two tall ships, making the sailing adventures accessible to as many people as possible thanks to sponsors LowRyders, who will be covering the other costs involved. LowRyders are Southampton's premiere bike advertising service. Offering pedal powered advertising throughout the whole of Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex.
