The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST), the UK based international sailing charity, is offering up some amazing public day sails this year, giving people the chance to discover the thrill and adventure of tall ship sailing without even having to take any time off work.
The five day sails will give people who have always wanted to experience sailing and working aboard a majestic tall ship the chance to give it a go with friends and family.
Regardless of physical ability, anyone over the age of 12 is able to sail with the JST for what promises to be some great days out learning the historic art of tall ship sailing.
The Trust, set up over 30 years ago, provides sailing adventures which integrate able bodied and disabled crews of amateur sailors under the guidance of professionals aboard their two tall ships, Tenacious and Lord Nelson.
Both Tenacious and her sister ship, Lord Nelson are the only tall ships in the world purpose designed and built to enable able bodied and disabled sailors to sail side by side as equals.
Paula Plummer, Voyage Coordination Manager at the JST said, “We are really pleased to be offering these day sails this year. The JST is all about equality and integration. Young or old, able bodied or disabled, all are welcome to sail with us.” She continued, “The upcoming day sails are certainly a great opportunity for people to try their hand at something new.”
A day sail with the JST typically begins at 0900 and ends at 1700. Available dates and locations are as follows:
