The Jubilee Sailing Trust and Wessex Cancer Trust firewalk took place last night in the Guildhall Square, Portsmouth (Hants). Over 40 people turned up to walk, having each raised at least £75 for the privilage of walking across a bed of hot coals.
Plenty of training and motivational speaking was given beforehand to ensure that all walkers were prepared, so it's very much a case of 'Don't try this at home'.
Lots of firewalkers really got into the spirit of things, dressing up in Halloween fancy dress costumes and face painters made sure the audience that had assembled to watch the spectacle got involved too. There were plenty of ghosts, ghouls and even the odd spiderman in the crowd.
The grand total for the event has yet to be confirmed but it's sure to be a lot. The final amount will be split equally between Jubilee Sailing Trust and Wessex Cancer Trust.
