Our JST ships are in the water almost all of the time, but Tenacious' time has arrived to have her anti-fouling spruced up - and we would love some extra volunteer help during November while the ship is in dry-dock in Milford Haven.
It is always an amazing site to see the underwater shape of such a large ship - and unless you work in a ship yard or are a regular visitor to the Cutty Sark or Victory, you won't get to see this very often. This is just the second time that Tenacious has been out of the water in five years.
Our fundraising team in the office have successfully raised a whopping figure to complete phase 1 of a routine refurbishment needed for the ship, and the jobs include painting the hull, taking off and putting back the rudder, checking the anchors and chains, removing liferafts for service, taking down 2 yards and overhauling them, changing the "cell" in the sewage plant and work on the master magnetic compass – replacing the "jewel".
