Adventurers Wanted for Tall Ship Voyages
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) has received generous donations for bursary funding for young people from Sunderland, Durham and York, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage and can be used by a young person (aged 16-25) who wishes to take part in the Youth Leadership@Sea Scheme. Berths are available for the east coast voyages departing from Whitby on 22 Aug 2011 and arriving in Hull on 26 August, and departing from Hull on 27 August 2011 and arriving in Ipswich on 2 September.
To apply for a bursary to fund a place on a tall ship voyage with the JST, contact Josephine Hall at josephine@jst.org.uk, or telephone her on 023 80 449108, extension 218. Full details of all of the JST’s voyages, the Youth Leadership at Sea Scheme and the bursary application process are available at: www.jst.org.uk.
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) owns and operates the majestic tall ships, Lord Nelson and Tenacious, specially designed and built to enable able-bodied and disabled people to sail side by side as equals, learning new skills, forging great friendships and meeting new challenges.
The JST operates a 'buddy’ system on board ship for disabled travellers who wish to have an able-bodied companion, or to take their own carer with them on a voyage. Carers would have to pay the full cost of their voyage. Information on 'buddies’ can also be found on the JST website.
