- PRESS RELEASE -
The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) owns and operates the majestic tall ships, Lord Nelson and Tenacious, specially designed and built to enable able-bodied and disabled people to sail side by side as equals, learning new skills, forging great friendships and meeting new challenges.
The JST has received a generous donation from the RW Mann Trust for bursary funding for 5 people, preferably from the North Tyneside and East Newcastle areas, to experience a tall ship voyage. Each bursary will partly finance a place on a JST voyage. The main thrust of charitable support includes children and young people, people with disabilities, older people, and schools and colleges.
If you would like to apply for a bursary to fund a place on a tall ship voyage with the Jubilee Sailing Trust, contact Pete Burch at peter@jst.org.uk, or telephone him on 023 80 449108, extension 206.
Full details of the JST ships and forthcoming voyages are available at: www.jst.org.uk.
The JST operates a 'buddy’ system on board ship for disabled travellers who wish to have an able-bodied companion, or to take their own carer with them on a voyage. Carers would have to pay the full cost of their voyage. Information on 'buddies’ can be found on the JST website.
