JST staff pledge to raise £2012 for 2012

Dated: 04/05/2012

Staff at the Jubilee Sailing Trust have undertaken to raise at least £2012 for the charity to celebrate this special year of the London Olympics 2012. Several of them are taking on personal challenges so friends and family can sponsor them.

Nikki Bagshaw (Fundraising Administrator), Tina Whiting (Business Development) and Ronan Ging (Medical Purser) are all strapping themselves to Red Devils to skydive from an aeroplane on 24th May. Nikki says "I feel like I might be crazy to do this but I really do want to help raise funds for this GREAT charity that helps change people's lives. But there are benefits: 1) being strapped to a hunky Red Devil and 2) living to tell the tale lol.

Kumi Coulthard (Business Operations) is going to abseil 300ft down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on 2 June.

Meanwhile, a string of Marketing & PR Officers and one of JST's Trustees are keeping their feet on the ground and competing against each other in a running race. Emma Laird (current post holder), John Patten and Jane Bagnall (past post holders) and Duncan Souster (Trustee) are all taking part in the BUPA 10K in London on 27th May. Emma says "I like the idea of running in central London without all the traffic around, and hopefully I won't be too exhausted to enjoy seeing some of my favourite buildings as we go past. I will definitely think of our ship Lord Nelson as we run past Nelson's Column. And yes, I am going to try and and beat the previous holders of my post, and our Trustee as well..."
