Lord Nelson to the rescue in STI Tall Ships Races 2012

As you may have gathered from our Facebook Social Media Page,  Lord Nelson was officially awarded a special prize for Race 1, for her part in providing medical assistance to another vessel competing in the Races and evacuating their mate, who was suffering from suspected appendicitis to medical care ashore in La Coruna. 

It appears that her quick intervention with the superb medical facilities we have on board killed the infection with antibiotics before it got to a point where surgery was necessary, and the mate is now recovering back in the UK. 

On a personal note from Captain Chris, 'we have a very proud Captain, and another shiny plaque to fit in the bar'.
