New Honorary VP for the Jubilee Sailing Trust in Wales
Dated: 21/11/2011
Councillor Judith Woodman, Deputy Leader of Cardiff City Council has recently agreed to become JST's Honorary Vice President in Wales.
Judith has agreed to take on this role following the view that Cardiff City Council and JST should work more closely together in order to benefit disabled and able-bodied people in Cardiff and the wider Wales.
Judith has already been a loyal follower of the JST for many years and has given considerable support to the Cardiff Branch's chairman John Stanton. She says "I am so pleased to be offered Honorary Vice President in Wales for the Jubilee Sailing Trust. The work of the Trust is second to none, and I look forward to working with the Trust in any way that I can, both personally and through the Council. I will do all that I can to ensure Cardiff Council play an active role within the Trust".
Alex Lochrane, JST's CEO, says "I am certain that the JST's identity and strength will continue to grow in Wales, particularly with [Judith] now giving such strong support to the Cardiff Branch".
This is an exciting time for the JST in Wales and the new Honorary Vice President is committed to leading on initiatives and projects which will help to make more widely available to people in Cardiff and beyond the chance to take part in a voyage with JST - which for many is a life-changing experience.
