Rosemary Mudie starts the Race
Dated: 12/10/2011
We are delighted to report that the race between Lord Nelson and Tenacious was kindly started by Rosemary Mudie. Rosemary was the first person to receive a JST medal and was instrumental in obtaining the first major grant that helped get the Trust going.
Rosemary is also the wife of Colin, who designed Lord Nelson. She has been involved with the Trust right from the start and it was very fitting that she fired the cannons from the Royal Yacht Squadron to start the race between the two JST ships on 11th October 2011.
We would also like to say thank you to the Royal Yacht Squadron for generously allowing us to use their start line and cannons, and to Bob Milner, Hon Secretary of Cowes Clubs and Classes Association, who officiated at the start.
