The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) is delighted to announce that their Vice Patron, Sarah Webb has been honoured yet again by the Queen, receiving an OBE in the 2009 New Year Honours list.
Webb who is already a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), has now been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to sport. She received this accolade as a result of her recent success at the 2008 Beijing Olympics where she and her crew mates won a Gold medal in the Yngling sailing class, repeating their success of Sydney in 2004.
As a Vice Patron since 2005 she has been a valuable supporter of the Trust, representing the charity at events and also by taking part in challenges. This year she is undertaking a sponsored skydive where she will be raising at least £500 for the JST.
JST Chief Executive Amanda Butcher said, “We are all very proud of Sarah’s achievement and are delighted that her success at the peak of sailing can only help to strengthen the link between those at top of the sport and the sail training organisations such as the JST”.
