01/02/12 - Lord Nelson

Our watch last night steered the ship towards La Palma under a crystal clear sky. They enjoyed the stargazing and identified two planets, Jupiter and Venus, as well as various stars and constellations.
The ship is squeaky clean above and below deck after a vigorous "Happy Hour"
this morning. Everyone is settling into the routine onboard which includes plenty of time to soak up the sun as well as help running the ship. We've had several visits by playful dolphins and reports of a whale sighting. Lord Nelson must look fantastic from afar as she slips along under acres of canvas in the light breeze on a sparkling sea. Tenerife is just visible astern, La Gomera abeam and our destination port, Santa Cruz, draws gradually closer ahead.
