Back to the ship update blog

LN807 is drawing to an end, as we are approaching Las Palmas, planning to be at the pier heads at 14.30. Last night was "lively" from around 16.00,as the wind got up, and we made 9 knots, close hauled at one point! Sails were up and down, in accordance to the conditions, keeping the ship comfortable enough for sleeping, and moving around.
Stephen was secured to the deck on the bridge (in his wheelchair) for the
18.00- 20.00 watch, but it was exhilarating, with rainbows in the spray and a spectacular sunset.
Today is sunny, and the sails are stowed for coming into harbour. Derek and Lisa have given us a delicious mushroom soup, homemade herb bread, and tasty salads for lunch....so much for saving ourselves for later then!
Barry has booked 39 of us in for a wok supper tonight, leaving two permanent crew to mind the ship. Harbour watches commence at 22.00, and then tomorrow the goodbyes begin.
We've had a great week, with everyone enjoying the sun, scenery, sailing and pleasant sea state. For those of us lucky enough to work onboard, we have similar times to come again next week!
So, thanks to all you voyage crew, Lisa, the Cooks Assistant, our BMs Kirsten and James, and Marilyn, my supernumerary, for a fun week. We look forward to meeting LN808 voyage crew on Saturday!
