The day dawned cloudy but bright and we were greeted by the news that our time of departure had been set, we are to put to sea tomorrow morning. An impromptu fire alarm was adapted into a full fire drill with all the hoses being unfurled to extinguish the 'fire' in the Bosun's store. The theme and the excitement continued with the crew setting a new personal record for the evacuation time. Paul was kind enough to include his birthday in the voyage so that we all got a great slice of cake to keep our calories up. Next our ever-entertaining bosun then introduced us to the finer points of manipulating the yards via a bit of 2-6 and heaving. Lunch was followed by a very successful assisted cimb and the more enthusiastic among us clambering to the first tops. Post dinner entertainment was greatly enhanced by curly making the rounds of the lower mess. FP
