We left our anchorage at Yarmouth early, with high hopes of a good day sailing. As we passed by the Needles the sky turned blue and the wind and sea began to pick up. As the wind was favourable, a team was sent aloft with BMs Charley and Joyce to release the gaskets in preparation for setting the sails. We had a great chance to enjoy the sunshine on deck, whilst under sail. People had to find their sea legs and enjoyed learning about life at sea with the support of everybody on the voyage. As we had to arrive outside Cherbourg by nightfall to anchor, towards the end of the day the sails were brought in with much heaving and teamwork and the engines were turned on.

An early start for the whole crew as we navigated through a small lock into Cherbourg, with the mist rising. We moored along the town's quay and got organised for happy hour. Antoine, Oliver and James got the chance to do an assisted climb on the foremast and reach their own personal Everest. People then got the chance to enjoy the town, while others stayed on board to assist putting on the mizzen staysail and the lower spanker. A night out in Cherbourg followed and was enjoyed by all the crew.
Forward Port; Naomi, Jacqueline, Antoine, Ajay, Dean, Andrew.
