We joined Lord Nelson as new crew and started to get to know each other and working in our watches. We departed from Greenock during late afternoon and under motor made for Holy Lock for an overnight anchor.
Up anchor at 9am Monday, to motor southerly in the Firth of Clyde for climbing and safety drill practice. Opposite Little Cumbrae, a favourable force 4 to 5 made the sail along the east coast of Bute magical. Circumnavigating Bute and heading west into Lock Fyne we took sails down as the wind gusted to force 7 and we dropped anchor at Tarbert. The weather had changed from pleasant sunshine to mean and moody rain and cloud and now on Tuesday morning at 6:30am we have a calm dawn and a promising day.
