04/03/11 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 04/03/2011

Friday.. already!!

It’s still all chipping and drilling here , looks like a Lord Nelson version of Disneyland… people in various coloured overalls wandering around with big , black ear defenders that look like Mickey Mouse ears !!

Still a nippy wind on deck, and distinct lack of sunshine… brrrr.. Cooks hot minestrone soup was welcome this lunchtime.

This weekend should mark the end of the noisy phase, Chris the Mate thinks, and time will mostly be spent painting next  week.

Below decks is pretty much at the worst stage too, spaces open everywhere as contents are used or checked, it’s always  hard to imagine that we will be back to a tidy ship again before too long.. but good to get chance to do all those long put off jobs at last.

Captain Neil has organised a Tapas supper ashore tomorrow evening, which most of us will go to, after a token bit of "exercise" to earn it ofcourse..?

For those that are able to stay on into next week, there is an island tour being arranged also, with a barbeque in the evening…. An excellent treat after such great work has been done.

Sadly, I shall miss these as I get off on Monday and will hand over to Carol, who will keep you informed of our progress, and of the voyage home.

Adios amigos! Jane MP
