04/03/12 - Tenacious

Hi there folks left St Lucia [ a dead cool place ] now heading for Dominica after a bracing 20 hour overnight cruise eta 14.00 On a broad reach making 7 knots wind speed 30 knots.
Throughout the morning, on our sail over to Dominica, we were able to reach an exciting 10 knots of speed on a 20 degree heel. We had waves crashing over us, bringing with it at least one flying fish onto the deck!
The Dominique skyline makes for a dramatic backdrop, with its sprawling rainforest and eerie caves on the shoreline. This afternoon we will be having a few hours shore leave to go and explore this beautiful island.
