The new voyage crew were all well on time yesterday apart from poor Clive, a regular sailor, who spent a while on a motorway shoulder awaiting a breakdown truck, It was good to welcome many crew back again, Tilly, Tony, Dave from the Faroes, Peter from Wales.. and plenty of new faces too. After the usual essential safety briefings and introductions we were at anchor stations and away from Poole quay, just as all the motorbikes were grouping fot Bike Night. Over to AP watch…….
Anchored off Isle of Wight last night after motoring there. Good night, then assisted climb for those that wanted to go up the rigging, before setting off to the South West and getting the sails set at approx 13:30. Enjoying good visibility and winds.
Anne Aft Port watch.
Cookie Dave and his assistant John, have been cooking up a storm to cater for 40 hearty appetites, and it was a record full house for cooked breakfast! Needless to say the sea is being kind, and with sails set on the main and foremast we are gently rocking along with a very soporific motion .
Quiet time is nearly over, and a dose of " happiness " is next, to keep our quarters sweet.
We are sailing towards France at present…. On our eventual way to Weymouth.
