Ahoy shore crew! We are fast approaching the sunny shores of Amsterdam and are in the middle of an air sea rescue exercise with a lifeboat and helicopter. This was arranged as part of the European group experience, by co ordinator Hilde and her partner, 2nd mate " Huge ", who is communicating for us in Dutch.

It is our second hot, sunny day and morale onboard is sky high!

Not too long after leaving Aberdeen several of the voyage crew felt seasick, and couldn’t believe that they would be well again! Thankfully the mill pond sea state and sun worked wonders and yesterday was fun for all.

After the essential ship routine of Happy hour to keep things fresh and healthy, there was free time, T-shirt decorating and the ongoing murder game! I died during happy hour… in my bunk… with a bottle of wine!! I was set up nicely… thanks Leake!

Cormac was killed at the helm… by a toothbrush…. It is providing much amusement, but people are wary of accepting anything off each other now!

We have been enjoying themed days, French day on Tuesday – croissants, baguettes and boeuf bouginon, Dutch day yesterday with sweet sprinkles, toast crackers, cheese, and another excellent presentation about their country during the evening.

We are all looking forward to shore leave, and tonight we have some of the Dutch crews relatives coming onboard to join us in a curry evening on deck – weather permitting.

I believe there is a poem of the voyage being compiled... so look out for that ! Meanwhile, we are all well and enjoying the voyage.

Jane
