Back to the ship update blog

After leaving Syracuse under sail with a little help from the
engines to let the pilot off early, we sailed through the night which was
uneventful. Breakfast at 7.30am as usual followed soon after by happy hour
to make everything ship shape.
There were demonstrations by Ash showing the traditional way to measure
speed at sea with the use of string and knots. She was spot on with her
speed calculation! Everyone applauded her and she smiled again. Following
that a different type of knot this time the knot tying demonstrated by Ned
and Chris.
The weather is sunny and the wind is from the North West and about 11 knots.
The sea is calm. This evening we shall anchor overnight in Malilia Bay on
the Northwest coast of Malta. I have been asked to partake in a concert and
will be telling a few jokes and some others are doing the Battle of
Trafalgar if it happened today and the musicians amongst us will provide us
with some soothing tunes.
Micah the cook provided us with omelette and chips for lunch and this
evening a BBQ of fresh sardines and chicken will be cooked by the Engineers.
On a personal note, I was trying to think of a better place to be on the
planet and I could not think of any!
C'est la vie!
