The voyage crew had all arrived in Falmouth on Sunday in time to celebrate Hugh’s birthday with a cake from Derek, the cook. After a few initial briefings, we went ashore in the evening to explore the delights of Falmouth.
We all rose early on Monday morning, eager to get under way, except for Kevin who had "waking up" issues – perhaps the army doesn’t do mornings? We set off from Falmouth mid-morning and then anchored round the corner in the Bay. Captain John assured us that this was all part of the training plan to enable us to climb aloft. Then it was time to celebrate Rob’s 21st birthday with another cake before setting sail and heading towards Lands End.
We hope the captain has arranged for another birthday cake for tomorrow.
Ireland is now in sight so this is Forward Port signing off and going to our bunks.
