Our final night before the end of this short but enjoyable journey was spent at anchor a mile or so from the entrance to Weymouth harbour. The engineers set up a barbecue on the stern and provided a wonderful al fresco meal, including freshly caught mackerel. We munched and drank on deck, watching the local dinghy sailors race around the bay.
As the sun set and the tempertature dropped, many gravitated towards the bar, where Chris the mate and Marco provided the entertainment with a number of songs, some more risqué than others. They were joined by other members of the voyage crew, including Cath singing a Russian folk song, Patricia belting out The Lady is a Tramp and a number of songs from Starbuck. We never realised there was so much talent on board! The party allegedly went on well into the night, but those of us on the early morning anchor watch had to make our excuses and leave.
