08/05/2011 - Tenacious

Dated: 10/05/2011

Location at Anchor, Southend. Yesterday we had a fair day of sailing in the light breeze available. Rosemary has developed a very positive shout at 2/6. The response from the heavers was far less positive.

During lighter moments Piers has done exceedingly well on the Scrabble board against Fiona, but he was supposed to be on lookout. For my part I managed to avoid unnecessary climbing by caliming that my presence on deck was more important. I slipped up big time on the first dog when half my watch decided to go their own way - deciding on reading, complete indifference, sleeping, or just nattering away. Punishment involved extra time on the helm.

Following an otherwise uneventful day we finished the evening with a quiz and each team was punished for every question that was wrong resulting in a fine towards JST funds. In total £109 in fines was collected and there were no defaulters. I am so grateful to everyone who participated and their generosity. Thanks to Captain Simon and all the permanent crew for their patience once more. Best wishes to everyone from the F P Watch. Next trip?
