09/02/13 - Tenacious
Dated: 09/02/2013
Still a bit on the chilly side, but after more training from Ali andthe
Bosun those who were willing and able went aloft, all good fun, soonafter
lunch we set off from Valletta heading for Siracusa. As soon as wewere out
of the relative shelter of the huge bay , passing a series ofexpensive ,
exclusive, extravagant private "yachts" we were in the teeth of aswell
which caused Tenacious to "corkscrew"making even the hardiest sea dogto
feel slightly under the weather , therefore the not so hardy seadogs
amongst us felt distinctly worse than under the weather , despite thehigh
standard of fare produced by Micah for dinner the seated numberswere
suddenly reduced (temporarily we hope). It was tough for the late andnight
watches all clad in their wet weather gear and added layers as well butthey
and their VC helpers still managed to set some sails . this squallyweather
persisted through the rest of night so unless people were on watchthey
basically hit their bunks , and the bar was unusually quiet , well doneto
the intrepid lot who toughed it out. Hopefully the wind and coldwill
improve tomorrow as we head for Siracusa , Scicily xx TNS365
