Back to the ship update blog

10/02/2011 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 11/02/2011

Santa Catalina has become a very pleasant home , as we work and play here.  Our daily routine is producing good results as we prepare the ship to welcome two more voyage crews , and then ofcourse , the voyage home.

We are enjoying a hot ,sunny day again after a squally day yesterday.Lesley , Bosun and her team , Lauranne, Tom and 2nd Mate David, are to be found dangling by secured climbing harnesses over the port side chipping, sanding and painting . The Kens - our two engineers are servicing tanks etc (they will have to fill you in ! ) Chris, 1st mate, is sorting all manner of safety updates and keeping an eye on me , as I sort out our domestic arrangements (laundry and cleaning ! ) and check the medical equipment. Captain John leads and monitors us all , and keeps up to date with progress at 8am and 15.00 meetings.
Making sure that we are constantly fed to exceedingly high standard is Will, our cook, who has given us paella, home made soups , roast chicken, and other delights .. we are heading to the pool or beach after work when we can to burn a few calories !

So , life is grand here , and we look forward to greeting our new crew on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend - we will !
