Afternoon watch now and we are watching the world go by - slowly. At last the wind veered around to the northeast and we set the square sails this morning after enjoying yet another excellent birthday cake (thank you Graham) as it was Marion's birthday. The sun is shimmering on the surface of the water and we are progressing at a leisurely 3knots under sail.
We crossed the line of the Tropic of Cancer earlier today so we are officially in the tropics! Temperatures rising into the mid-high 20s, the sea is now a balmy 23-24 degrees. Dolphins and flying fish were sighted yesterday, so far no such luck today. At this speed we might make Antigua for New Year 2012, but not at all bothered as it is a beautiful sunny day in the middle of nowhere! Aft Starboard Watch
