11/02/12 - Lord Nelson

Woke up in Gomera to find the skies a little overcast, but at last the wind had dropped. This morning was the assisted mast climb and everyone who tried made it up there overcoming their nerves to receive applause from the rest of the crew below. We left Gomera at about 11.30 and by now the wind had dropped a little too much down to 5 knots, so we were under motor cruising gently towards Tenerife. Later we have a lecture on the mysteries of sail setting, and the permanent crew will be practicing their man overboard drill.
