We boarded Tenacious late on Friday in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, where Tenacious was moored beside many mega-yachts.
Saturday was an eventful day. After safety briefings, and going aloft in the pouring rain (rain, in Antigua??), we set off after after lunch, heading for Martinique. We had a busy afternoon setting the sails in a brisk wind, and there was great amusement at dinner time watching the gravy slide off our plates, before we were called out to take in some sails. On our evening watch, as the sun went down on a lovely starry night, with Orion straight above us, we sailed past Guadeloupe. Most of the crew enjoyed sleeping in the calmer seas in the lee of the the island.
Today, we have nearly all of our sails set (apart from the Royals) and are belting along at half a knot, enjoying a glorious sail in the sunshine, munching Graham's famous brownies while watching dolphins frolicking off our port bow. Life is good!!
