12/03/12 - Tenacious

Dated: 14/03/2012

Monday 12 March. The dawn brought another beautiful day in Falmouth Harbour.
After breakfast we prepared to leave harbour. On the dot of 0900 we left the pontoon and turned for the open sea. We waved a fond farewell to the mad mongoose, where Ted and Bill had spent the last of everybody's Eastern Caribbean dollars. The tables will probably be able to be repaired. After turning to starboard we gradually saw Antigua falling behind us. Perfect sailing weather. We soon set the outer and inner jibs and then had fun setting the new, non-furling main topmast staysail. More and more sails were set, even the Spanker, disturbing some people's sunbathing on the stern. We held another efficient evacuation drill and then into Happy Hour. Now we sail steadily on with St Kitts about 9 miles to port. The crew on this voyage may be few in number, but we have probably nearly 2000 person-days of tall ship sailing within this Forward Port watch.

Love and kisses to all our fans.
