This way that way forward and back way over the Irish Sea!
That is precisely where we are heading right now at about 7.30 in the evening. It is a beautiful evening with a fair wind thus Nelly is looking fantastic with her sails all lit up by the setting sun.
Our voyage crew joined yesterday and have all settled in well and are getting to know one another. We set sail off the berth in Greenock yesterday evening surrounded by amazing scenery and anchored just off shore for the night. It was getting a bit dark so I anticipated waiting until the morning to take some pics but not to be as we awoke this morning to...fog and...rain!
However it soon cleared and more beautiful Scottish scenery was enjoyed by all until we sailed away.
We shall be sailing tonight then anchoring just near Dublin tomorrow evening, then heading onto Irish shores the following day. I dare say a few of us will be sampling a Guiness whilst we are there.
Our Cook Ali and her beautiful assistant Tracy have made some fantastic meals including a lovely lamb soup and a veggie one, chicken casserole with mash and veg, lasagne and...best of all in my view and I'm sure others will vouch for this too...dark chocolate pudding and cream. Oh my word it was to die for!
I've been given loads of support by our wonderful voyage crew with Happy Hour (no not drinking unfortunately, happy hour here is cleaning) today.
Everyone did a grand job knuckling down, despite the ship being pretty bumpy, and cleaning the lower mess part of the ship from end to end. So now Nelly looks like a new pin and is smelling clean and fresh. And I'm sure we'll be able to keep her that way with the great team of willing helpers I have on board on this voyage. So thanks to you all guys, you know who you are!
Well I'm signing off now as loads of people's personal laundry has appeared in my laundry pile. Seeing as people have grovelled so sweetly for me to do it, I'm sure I can oblige.
Bye for now then folks.
