Screeches of delight at the comedy element and shock at the coldness of the water were heard as Jacq was wiped out by a wave that had crept up at an opportune moment, just as her waterproof had been removed 2 seconds before!
standing sodden and resembling a drowned rat, spirits were high and a light moment of comedy was had! The seas were amazing , one roller coaster wave after another breaking all around, the white horses galloping along the crests of the waves racing to get ahead of the ship, keeping the watch abreast of the next one to hit. An amazing experiencing and fantastic sailing for all. Thursday morning saw land ahoy and following a much needed hearty breakfast of sausage, beans and poached eggs, we arrived in Brest.
The rain persisted all day however a trip into the town was made possible and the odd coffee and half a Guinness was enjoyed by many of the voyage crew. An evening of local cuisine was followed by a pint or two at the local hostelry and a great time was enjoyed by all.
Weather conditions mean that we will depart Brest on Saturday morning all being well and into the Bay of Biscay we will head to continue our voyage to the European sun of Lisbon.
