A fisherman returned the escaped fender for a small Caribbean fee!!
We All hit land to explore Santa Lucia . Some went straight to the beach with a water taxi, others went ashore in the DOTI boat. 10 or 12 of us got a cab to the botanical gardens, with the one wheelchair and its occupant stashed away in the boot. The gardens were absolutely stunning, and the hot spring pools were very hot and very comfy. Incredibly enough, just about all of it is accessible by wheelchair! Next, we walked back into town, which has a very traditional Caribic ambiance. Still others went snorkling and some took a dramatic boating trip round to the Pitons. Six intrepid multinationals (French, Canadian, Swiss , Australian and one English) walked around to the Anse Chastineau a hilly 2 mile walk - after snorkling over beautiful coral and millions of various fish they hit the bar to drink one massive cocktail between the 6 ;'A whole lotta love' in anticipation of valentine's day. So we know all our 12 kids are reading this - we're having a ball!! (Tash this is your Mum and Dad!!) We all got soaked in another tropical shower. After drying up in the setting sun, we got to dinner of freshly caught tuna, for which Graham negotiated a knock-down price in true Caribbean fashion. However, Barbara also feels that she had the better deal with 10kg Mahi Mahi. We look forward eating it soon.
A wonderful BBQ on deck and engineer,s punch and a lot of laughing !!
