Second day on the boat now and everyone is getting to know one another, a really great experience as we have so many people with very varied backgrounds aboard. This morning we did the safety briefs and ran through a few drills before everyone who was willing got a chance to climb the mast, a somewhat fun but scary experience!
In the afternoon, we learnt how to brace the sails (how to turn them to make the most of the available wind) by using the ropes on deck and afterwards the crew who wanted an assisted climb of the mast were given the chance to do so.
And now, I for one, am very much looking forward to setting sail tomorrow and look forward to the rest of this, so far, amazing trip!
