Back to the ship update blog

13/12/2010 - Tenacious

Dated: 14/12/2010

Spots of rain in the night but woke up to a fine day. We are some 200 miles north of the Cape Verde islands which we will skirt on the way to the Caribbean. We are now into a well-oiled routine. With a calmer sea, we are all in good spirits and morale is high. We had an excellent talk this morning on the entire rig and we feel much more confident in setting, furling etc.etc..

The great excitement this afternoon was sighting a large Ukrainian bulk carrier heading for the Black Sea. This the first ship of any kind that we have seen for a full 2 days. However we do not feel lonely; we are constantly accompanied by dolphins and are engaged in improving egg missile design technique for an egg throwing competition which is shortly to take place. We are also much cheered on hearing that the seas round the UK are enjoying much stormier weather than the gentle breezes that we are currently experiencing.
