Back to the ship update blog

14/02/13 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 14/02/2013

Well the last voyage crew disembarked on the 12th after a great sail off the South African coast and a visit to Simonstown. Cookie Derek disapeared off back to the UK and cookie Dave arrived.

So what of the rest of us.. Well we entered into a frantic period of activity... the deckies immediately started to take sails down for fixing and Ted started painting.. Commonly seen.. Well his butt is sticking out of a water trap. The Engineers immediately ripped the tops off the fuel tanks and Gaz became this weird green covered mole like creature appearing occasionally smelling of fuel oil. The normally tidy-ish accommodation looks like a bomb has hit it with various A/C engineers pulling even more deck heads etc. down in a flurry of activity to finish the A/C off before we climb back to the tropics.
Chris and Andy are doing a sterling task showing all the visitors around that appear as if by magic at the gangways end, so the maintainers are often seen talking to a party of kids one minute and next a crowd of rugby injured disabled.

Tomorrow brings more visitors to the ship and the awaited arrival of the CEO, and a reception in the evening hosted by Chris and Andy with the assistance of our resident RNA helpers Terry and Lee. The ever present Taff disembarks tomorrow and he was last seen heading towards the bars of the V&A waterfront obviously on a mission, so I imagine it’s going to be a headache day tomorrow..
