14/07/12 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 17/07/2012

On arriving in La Coruna we were met by an ambulance who took our extra, temporary passenger to be checked out at the hospital. We went ashore that night and found some lively streets and alley ways with plenty of bars, a good opportunity to unwind for all. The youngsters had to be back for curfew but on the way home managed to pick up a couple of kebabs and some chips. The next morning, we took the crew photo in the sun and carried out assisted climbs up the rigging. After that, we left La Coruna and started motoring into a 3m swell as the bay of Biscay began to spring to life. A few hardy souls clipped on the bow and got absolutely soaked by the spray. Once we rounded the northwestern tip of Spain we set sails and headed south but they had to be be handed at around 1am due to the wind backing. As we write, it is hot and sunny as we head to an anchorage for a BBQ.

Forward Port watch: Nick, Calum, James, Mike, Bastiaan, Zoe & Lily
