Lord Nelson left Los Palmas around 8am on Friday morning, set of to a flying start and a great round of sausage and bacon sarnies perfectly made by our awesome cookie.
By around 10am we all headed to bracing stations and set the sails for the day, unfortunately after zooming under motor at 8 knots the sails brought us down to a gentle 2 knots and the relaxing and sunbathing commenced. BUT.
after a short while we heard an almighty splash and a WHOLE man (dummy Fred) went over board.
"HARD TO PORT" from the 1st mate and the exciting task of rescuing Sir Fred started, we hauled the ship round, our valiant 2nd mate, David, bravely swam to his rescue!! What a hero!!
We sailed without incident until after a quick word with the captain who informed us we would never make it to port on time we headed back to the heaving lines and brought in the sails to motor on to La Gomera.
The ship was brought in perfectly by the A Team as usual, Aft Port (us lol)
After another cracking dinner from cookie most of the ships company headed ashore for some fun and frolics with the locals, some more than others but we won't go into detail on that ha ha.
Lots of love from James, Shane, Harriet, Enrico, Stefano, Alan, Kasha, Rob and Layona, Aft Port, more commonly known as the A Team!! See you all here soon!
