Hello all ashore !
We have had a great week, and are only sorry that the signals here are so sketchy that we haven’t been able to tell you much. The scenery is stunning, and the weather has been kind mainly…….. full oilies have put in an appearance but everyone looks tanned to go home tomorrow.
There have been some " highs " … heroic mast climbs , by those who have to put in that extra effort…… fantastic ! Well done all.
The entertainment has been mainly on the stern platform , with a fishy competition between Marco , Matt and Chips all week . We have eaten the tastiest mackerel ever for breakfast ! I think that the final total was 18 mackeral …. And 94 crabs !!! All too small to keep. … the Lobster remains elusive !
Today we had a close encounter with a large pod of very sociable dolphins , who played around our starboard bow for ages coming into Oban . Those stowing sails had a 3D view – according to Bosun Lesley , but that may have been a ruse to attract plenty of help !
There are only three of us onboard at present , as the rest are wining and dining ashore in sunny Oban – it stays light so late up here. We are expecting a couple of Permanent Crew , and then tomorrow it is all change , and away on another scenic sail.
