Joining day! At approx 13.00 the ship began to fill up with new and familiar faces for signing on. Pre-voyage meetings swiftly followed with Captain Barbara asking all the watch leaders to stand up to introduce themselves, there was one problem with that, WL Peter asked to plead the fifth as he had no legs to stand on! A great laugh was had by all as Barbara went a light shade of pink! After briefing the watches practiced how to evacuate the ship and then went aloft for some climbing experience. 17.00 came around fast and we set off for Cherbourg, we set fore and aft sails as we came down the Solent and at about 18.00 set square sails, it was a lovely motion onboard and the sun was splitting the stones. We are on night watch at the moment and looking forward to arriving in forted Cherbourg tomorrow.
