15/11/2010 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 16/11/2010

Forward Starbord took the first watch and were rewarded by a spectacular Moon rainbow during a squall.

A hair raising incident caused by a bouncing coffee cup, temporarily switched off the power assisted steering. Joe on the helm remained calm throughout, saying quietly Rowan, we have a problem.Normal service was resumed at the flick of a switch, and the coffe cup returned to duty without a stain on it's character.

The wind overnight was good, with boat speed of around 8 knots, several ships passing close by.

A glorious sunrise was observed by the morning watch, but, as the day came on the winds fell light, and both Royals were set, Inner jib handed, and the yards squared.

Winds remained light during the day, and by the late afternoon square sails were handed, and the Topsails set.

stop press whales were just spotted on the horizon.
