Greetings to all from the Bonkers Watch - also known as Aft Port. This blog is written by Knitting Jenny with helpful suggestions from 'Captain' Jack, JLS (Jenny's Little Soldier) Alan, Farkling Champion Ken, Janet the Giant, Ace Photographer Rob and Duracell Tony. We are a very happy watch who laugh a lot.We have had variable weather and enjoyed some time in lovely sunshine andblue skies with all possible sails up including the spanker. It was an ideal time to climb the main mast so some of us did - we look forward to seeing the photographs from 30 metres above deck.We are now doing 4ish knots with 9 sails up and Tony on mess duty. We have travelled 550 miles with at least 1200 more to go to the Azores. Janet is still recovering from the excitement of climbing out on the course yard to untie the gaskets!Last night was quiz night with a win for Captain Barbara's team - some ofthe questions involving French translation. Tomorrow sees a St Patrick's Day competition with watches busy all over ship making hats and composing poems.
We are feeling smug as we have done ours plus a bonus limerick.
Finally our watch are gradually being initiated into the mysteries of the dice game Farkle which involved much noise and merriment (and got us into trouble). We have also suggested that we could play a whole ship's game of Sardines! Maybe we could have a kite flying competition too!
Happy Birthday Paddy Ging :)
