16/11/12 - Lord Nelson

Dated: 16/11/2012

Day 29 16th Nov
As I write this Sue T is dictating to John T the 10 commands of how to set the foremast Topsail , in a light and I must say very welcome tropical rain which seems to be evaporating off us as soon as it hits as we don’t seem to be getting wetter as the watch goes on. The sea temperature is 28c. and the air temperature is a cool 27c with the humidity up there in the high ninties. Al is doing some maintenance varnishing and Luke is on the helm being amused by Mike, I, am trying, to focus on my task of Port lookout but as I can’t remember the last time I saw another vessel, it is hard going. Today has been chosen as "Hug a Captain Day" and the whole of the voyage crew have been hugging our Captain all morning. The Sextants were out again with good results and positions were plotted. Richard our Watch leader for the last couple of days has been doing a very good job has been keeping us informed of goings on in the chartroom. The murder game is going well with I guess only six "killers" still at large the rest of the crew having been disposed of in short order. There has been a request to all crew members to conserve the fresh water as we are currently consuming fifty percent more than is prudent, I suspect that if there is no lessening of consumption, the request will become an order soon. The first Tuna of the voyage has been caught by Mr Chips and Sam, being the size of a rugby ball it won’t feed the ship but a first has been scored, hopefully many more soon. WE LIVE IN HOPE.
Noel Starboard watch.
PS The Big Shave went ahead last evening as planned as shown below with a total of over £500 being raised for the trust.. well done John and all those who pledged money.. A BIG THANK YOU. Steve MP
