17/01/12 - Tenacious

Dated: 17/01/2012

Day 18 of the voyage. We're settled in to our routine, the passing of the days noted mainly by the changing times of our watches. Now that the moon is rising early in the morning, the evening and night watches have the wonders of the Milky Way to gaze at, 200 years ago, unexceptional, but in these times something very few of us have been privileged to see.
The Backgammon Tournament is underway: some surprise results, with the hot favourite, Captain Barbara, being knocked out by Ken, the oldest crewmember, who cunningly pretended not to know the rules. Don't gamble with this man!
Currently carrying as much sail as we can, in the hope of intercepting a rowing boat "Row to Recovery", rowed by Servicemen, 3 out of the 6 have physical disabilities.
More on this soon. Greetings to all our loved ones at home (especially Annette) from Aft Port Watch: Ken, Kay, Anne-Laure, Barry, Stephanie, Mike and Mark.
